According to Comicbook, Paramount has high hopes for the ‘Halo’ live-action series after its Season 1 debut, and even sees it as a “key series” and that Season 2 may not be the end.
After nearly a decade of work, the ‘Halo’ live-action series was finally released on Paramount+ in March of this year. Although it was initially treated as a film and television adaptation of a game, it is clear that Paramount has a longer-term plan for it.
The show received mixed reactions from critics and fans alike because of its plot and other factors, but Paramount seemed pleased with the results and gave the green light to Season 2, ensuring more ‘Halo’ in the future.
In an interview with ‘The Hollywood Reporter’, Paramount + Chief Content Officer David Nevins noted that given the game’s excellent results and numerous titles on the Xbox platform, he believes ‘Halo’ is definitely a potential key IP series.
As of now, it’s unclear just how big Paramount’s idea for the show is, but it sounds like they have plans for much more than just Season 2.
David Nevins adds, “The game offers us a lot of room for a lot of different ways you can create. At the same time, it has a lot of different directions, and we’re already thinking about it as a key series project.”
The media pointed out that, given that the ‘Halo’ universe is so vast, a future spin-off film or television production about Master Chief is not out of the question, perhaps under Paramount’s leadership, there is an opportunity to make a new ‘Halo’ movie.
