“Captain America” Chris Evans dubbed the actor Lightyear, and the film will be released in North America on June 17 this year.
Directed by Angus MacLane and written by Soul director Pete Docter, “Lightyear” is an original animated film revolving around Lightyear’s prototype, the second man on the moon, Buzz Aldrin.
According to the preview, Lightyear went to an alien planet to perform a mission to fight the villain Zurg.
Pete Docter, who also serves as Pixar’s creative director, wrote the original story.
He said: “The world of Lightyear always excites me, and in ‘Toy Story’ his backstory as a space commander seems incredible, and I’ve always wanted to explore that world further. What it did was, what movie did Andy watch make him want a Lightyear toy? I wanted to watch that movie, and now I’m lucky to be able to do that.”
