‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ held its world premiere in London, England, with the cast and crew in attendance: director James Cameron, actors Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Kate Winslet, Jack Champion, Trinity Bliss, Bailey Bass, Jamie Flatters & producer Jon Landau.
Recently, to promote ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’, director Cameron was interviewed by ‘The Hollywood Reporter’ and mentioned that he had plans to make ‘Avatar 6’ and ‘Avatar 7’, but he might let other directors direct them because he would be 89 years old by then (sic).
Earlier Cameron had revealed to himself that ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ would have to make over $2 billion at the global box office to break even.
The team has now completed the motion capture parts of ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’, ‘Avatar: The Seed Bearer’ and ‘Avatar: The Tulkun Rider’, which took a total of 16 months to shoot.
In the interview titled ‘All In’, Cameron said, “I’ll be 89 years old by then (in 2043), and obviously I can’t do the Avatar movie indefinitely, it takes a lot of energy. I have to train someone (to take over). I don’t care how smart you are as a director, you don’t know how to make a good series.”
The film will be released in mainland China and Northern America on 12.16.
