Recently, the new film ‘Rosaline’, which tells the story of the alternative ‘Romeo and Juliet’, was announced for streaming on demand. It is reported that the film will be available on Disney + from February 10 to February 15, for a limited time screening.
Rosaline, Juliet’s cousin and Romeo’s latest ex-girlfriend, is sharp but idealistic.
At first, she tries to sabotage the famous romance and win Romeo’s heart back, but eventually she embarks on a journey of self-discovery that helps the ill-fated lovers get back together.
The film is based on the novel “When You Were Mine” by Rebecca Serle, written by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber (“500 Days of Summer,” “The Fault in Our Stars,” “Me Before You”) and directed by Karen Maine (“Yes, God, Yes”). Karen Maine (“Yes, God, Yes”) directed.
The cast includes Isabela Merced as Juliet, Kyle Allen as Romeo, Kaitlyn Dever as Rosaline, Sean Teale as Dario, Spencer Stevenson as Rosaline’s best friend and confidant, and Minnie Driver as Juliet’s nanny.
The film was released to moderate reviews, Rotten Tomatoes 74% fresh, MTC score of 61. As a teenage romantic comedy, this rating is qualified.
