Ryan Gosling negotiated to join the prequel nature of the ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ reboot movie, which had previously been scheduled to star Margot Robbie & production.
Jay Roach, who worked with Robbie on ‘Bombshell,’ directed and Carrie Solomon wrote the screenplay. The script is a new and original story set in 1960s Europe. The film is currently in active development and has not yet been officially greenlit, with shooting scheduled to begin next spring.
The series was originally launched in 2001, directed by Steven Soderbergh, starring George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts and Matt Damon, and grossed over 450 million at the global box office.
Sequels were released in 2004 and 2007, and in 2018 a spin-off film ‘Ocean’s Eight’ starring Sandra Bullock as the female lead was released.
