A new update on acclaimed director Sam Mendes’ new film “Empire of Light” has been revealed. It is reported that the film will participate in this year’s BFI London Film Festival and will have its European premiere at the festival.
In addition, this Ming Nebula episode of the film is confirmed to be released on December 9. And this release time will undoubtedly send the film into the awards season fray.
‘Empire of Light’ will be written by Mendes himself, his first solo screenplay, and tells a love story set on the southern coast of England in the 1980s, revolving around a beautiful old cinema.
From the synopsis, the film will continue Mendes’ tradition of making family romance and ethical dramas, which is worth waiting for.
The cast features Olivia Colman, Micheal Ward, Colin Firth, Toby Jones, Crystal Clarke, and Tanya Moodie.
