Sarah Silverman joins Bradley Cooper as Bernstein’s sister Shirley in “Maestro”, a biopic of legendary conductor and composer Leonard Bernstein, directed and starred by Bradley Cooper.
Carey Mulligan as Bernstein’s wife Felicia, Jeremy Strong as critic John Gruen, Matt Bomer as one of Bernstein’s lovers & clarinetist, and Maya Hawke as Bernstein’s daughter Jamie.

“Maestro” tells the Bernstein couple’s complex love story spanning more than 30 years – from their meeting at a banquet in 1946 to their two engagements, 25 years of marriage and three children with Jamie, Alexander and Nina.
The film is also produced by Cooper, and co-written with Josh Singer (“First Man” “Washington Post”), Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Todd Phillips and others participated in the production, and is expected to be released next year.
Bernstein made his debut with the New York Philharmonic at the age of 25, becoming the first American to conduct a major American symphony.
In 1954 his composition “On The Waterfront” was nominated for an Oscar, and in 1957 he composed for “West Side Story”, and his career took off. “West Side Story” quickly became popular on Broadway, and the film of the same name won the Oscar for Best Picture in 1961. and 9 other awards.
