The sequel to the popular thriller-suspense film ‘Searching’, ‘Searching 2’ , is scheduled to be released in Northern America on February 23 next year.
Starring Storm Reid (‘A Wrinkle in Time’ ‘Euphoria’) and Nia Long (‘NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service’ ‘Empire’), the film will be new characters and a new story, but will continue to the character’s cell phone, computer and other devices on the screen, the first part of the creative team returns.
‘Searching 2’ directed and written by Will Merrick and Nick Johnson, the two were the editors of the first film, which is also their first time directing a feature film, the story from the previous director Aneesh Chaganty and Sev Ohanian.
The previous film, starring John Cho and Debra Messing, was a novel presentation about a father whose daughter goes missing and he uses the internet and other means to find her.
‘Searching’ was the big box office hit of 2018, raking in $75 million worldwide for a production cost of $880,000.
