After many jumps, it seems that ‘Sherlock Holmes 3’ starring the well-known actor Robert Downey Jr. is really coming.
According to media reports, they learned through multiple sources that the sequel ‘Sherlock Holmes 3’ after more than a decade is scheduled to officially begin filming in Atlanta, Georgia at the end of 2022, with Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law returning to continue playing Holmes and Watson.
If this information is true, the film is expected to be released in Northern America at some point in late 2023 or 2024.
After the success of 2009’s ‘Sherlock Holmes’ and 2011’s ‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows’, the sequel has experienced several production delays. First the third film was originally scheduled for release in December 2020, but was later postponed to December 2021, and then postponed again.
In addition, Guy Ritchie stepped down as director in 2019 and was replaced by British director Dexter Fletcher.
Notably, Robert Downey Jr. and his wife Susan Downey are also working on two series set in the Holmes universe for HBO Max.
Of course, since the film’s production date has been pushed back several times over the past few years and there is no definite release date for the film, it remains to be seen. We will continue to monitor the event for additional news and bring it to you as soon as possible, so stay tuned.
