Single-day box office on Friday in North America: “Dune” is No. 1 and Japanese Manga “Boku no Hero Academia” is No. 2

This Friday, “Dune” earned another $5 million in the box office in the United States.

Compared with the US$17.5 million on the premiere day (last Friday) (including the US$5.1 million in the preview on Thursday), it was down 72% and ranked first in the box office on a single day.

At present, “Dune” North America box office has accumulated a total of 58.87 million US dollars, and the weekend box office is expected to be 15.5 million US dollars (down 62% from last week).

The total domestic box office of “Dune” will reach 69.3 million US dollars.

Despite the sharp drop in performance, “Dune” is still expected to become the box office champion of the Halloween weekend.

The second-largest one-day box office on Friday was the newly released Japanese anime movie “Boku no Hero Academia: World Heroes Mission”.

Its premiere box office of 2.88 million US dollars, is expected to be ranked third this week with a box office of 7.9 million US dollars.

“Halloween Kills” ranked third on Friday, and it is expected to rank second at the weekend box office with $8.75 million.

This may be due to the bundling effect of festivals.

The horror film “Last Night in Soho,” directed by Edgar Wright and released this week, ranked fifth at the box office of 1.92 million on Friday, and is predicted to be sixth at the weekend.
