While “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” is still in theaters, Paramount Pictures and Sega are already gearing up for a future third live-action film.
Sonic writers Patrick Casey and Josh Miller revealed during the “KCC Comic-Con 2022 Q&A” that the team hopes to release the third film of “Sonic the Hedgehog” in theaters sometime in 2024.
It is said that it was mentioned in the Q&A session that Paramount is currently looking for someone to play the black Sonic – Shadow the Hedgehog.
The name of the voice actor has not been revealed, but it may not be the current actor in the movie. It is said that the voice actor may be like the second generation of Knuckles – played by big Hollywood actors.
Josh Miller added that the film will continue to add characters as long as there is demand: “With each new Sonic film, we’ll keep adding characters to the game world as long as people are interested in them.”
As for the story and inspiration – there are said to be plans to incorporate “Sonic Adventure 2” and Shadow the Hedgehog-derived gameplay elements into the third film.
The announcement follows the worldwide box-office success of the second “Sonic the Hedgehog” film, which has surpassed the original to become the highest-grossing video game adaptation.
Who do you want to be in Shadow in the third movie? Are there other characters you’d like to see in the movie? Feel free to leave a comment below.
