“Spider-Man: No Way Home” will make a huge profit for Sony of $600 million

According to a foreign media Deadline report, after “Spider-Man: No Way Home” exceeded US$1 billion at the global box office, Sony has earned US$242 million in profits.

It is estimated that “Spider-Man: No Way Home” will make a profit of up to 610 million U.S. dollars after the release, and it will become the most profitable project in the history of Sony Pictures.

“Spider-Man: No Way Home” is currently close to US$500 million at the box office in North America and US$1.082 billion at the global box office.

Deadline quoted the calculation of Hollywood film financial analysts, the North American box office of the film can reach as high as 750 million US dollars.

Without the Chinese mainland market, the overseas box office of “Spider-Man: No Way Home” will also reach 1 billion US dollars, and the global total box office will reach 1.75 billion US dollars.

Based on the total box office of US$1.75 billion, the box office share of “Spider-Man: No Way Home” theater is approximately US$825 million (the issuer takes 50%), plus streaming media, digital leases, and physical Blu-ray discs in the United States and overseas. The total income of the project is 1.23 billion U.S. dollars.

Excluding the film production cost of US$200 million, the publicity fee of US$248 million and other expenditures of US$172 million, the total profit of the film is US$610 million.

According to the previous agreement, Marvel is responsible for 25% of the investment in the film, and will also get 25% of the profit-which is about 152.5 million US dollars.

As Spider-Man made big profits for the two companies, “Spider-Man 4” was quickly put on the agenda.

“Spider-Man: Homecoming” and “Spider-Man: Far From Home” brought Sony US$200 million and US$339 million in profits, respectively. The third episode’s profits will exceed the sum of the first two episodes.

In comparison with other movies, Sony’s “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” made a profit of US$305 million that year, Disney/Marvel’s “Avengers 3” made a profit of US$305 million, and “Star Wars 8” made a profit of US$417 million. , “Star Wars 9” 300 million US dollars profit.
