‘Mickey7’ is adapted from writer Edward Ashton’s new science fiction novel released Feb. 15 in a style described as ‘The Martian’ + ‘Dark Matter’, with Warner Bros. handling distribution.
The film follows Mickey7, a man who embarks on a journey to colonize the frozen land of Niflheim, an expendable “expendable” hired to do those high-risk tasks, and who will be reborn as a clone after his death, with most of his memories preserved.
This time he is also found dead, and then he returns to the mission base to find a new clone, Mickey8, occupying his place, and Mickey7 decides to resist.
Steven Yeun is well known to his fans through his role as Glenn in the American drama ‘The Walking Dead’ and has become more familiar in recent years.
He first starred in Chang-dong Lee’s ‘Burn’, which was nominated for the main competition at Cannes, and in 2020 starred in ‘Minari’, becoming the first Asian actor to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor, and this summer also starred in the highly anticipated horror film ‘Nope’.
