Sam Mendes (‘1917’ ‘American Beauty’ ‘Skyfall’) directed the new film ‘Empire of Light’ releasing stills and announcing that it will have its Toronto International Film Festival World premiere at Toronto International Film Festival and Northern America release on December 9.
The film stars Olivia Colman, Micheal Ward, Colin Firth, Toby Jones, Crystal Clarke, and Tanya Moodie, with Mendes directing and writing the script. This is also his first solo screenplay, with Roger Deakins as cinematographer and Searchlight Pictures producing.
‘Empire of Light’ tells a love story set on the southern coast of England in the 1980s, around a beautiful old cinema.
