Francis Ford Coppola’s film ‘Megalopolis’ has added several new actors to its cast, with Coppola’s sister Talia Shire and his nephew Jason Schwartzman joining the cast. In addition, the famous actress Shia LaBeouf is also involved in the film.
‘Megalopolis’ is a Coppola film that has been in the works for many years, with a script written in the 1980s. The film is set in New York City and follows an architect who attempts to create a Utopia in the city, an attempt that is strongly opposed by the mayor.
The film is described as “a grand tale of political ambition, genius and conflicted love that maps the fate of Rome in a world that is unable to solve its own social problems”.
In 2019, on the eve of his 80th birthday, Coppola said he would soon make ‘Megalopolis’.
At the time, Coppola said: “It will be a grand epic, it will be extraordinary, it will have a huge cast, and it will use the different styles and genres that I have tried in my years of filmmaking”.
‘Megalopolis’ costs about $100 million to $120 million, and Coppola will shoot the film out of its own pocket, in addition to some sponsorship.
According to the plan, the film will start shooting in November and last until March 2023.
