Taron Egerton collapsed during the opening preview of London’s West End revival play Cock last Saturday night.
At the request of the actor on the same stage, the performance was suspended and the curtain lowered, and a doctor in the audience ran to the backstage to treat him.
Director Marianne Elliott took the stage 40 minutes later, telling the audience that Egerton was “in good shape”.
The show has since resumed, with alternate Joel Harper-Jackson replacing Egerton.
Later, the show also issued a statement briefly describing the situation at the time, saying that Egerton was feeling well.
