‘The Batman’ breaks 300 million North American box office, its global box office closes to 600 million US dollars

After all, it is DC’s ace IP, “The Batman” earned $36.8 million in the third weekend of its North American release, easily completing the three-peat.

“The Batman” grossed more than $300 million in North America and nearly $600 million ($598 million) worldwide.

“The Batman” is Warner’s first exclusive theatrical release (45-day window) since Nolan’s “Tenet” in September 2020.

Last year, Warner implemented the HBO Max and theater synchronization strategy, which had a great impact on the box office of blockbusters.

“The Batman” far surpassed the $206 million final box office hit of “Batman Begins” in 2005, both of which were series openings.

The other two installments in Nolan’s Batman trilogy, “The Dark Knight” ended up at $534 million and “The Dark Knight Rises” ended up at $448 million.

I wonder if this work starring Robert Pattinson can challenge the latter?

The Japanese animated film “Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie” opened at $14.81 million in North America, ranking second. Including the point-of-view box office, this work has accumulated a total of 17.69 million US dollars in North America.

The performance of this work shows that Japanese animation is more popular than expected in North America, and the North American opening of “Demon Slayer -Kimetsu No Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train” in April 2021 also has $21.2 million.

“Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie” is currently grossing $112 million outside North America and $129.8 million worldwide.

“Uncharted,” starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg, came in third with $8 million in its fifth week, with $125 million in North America and $337 million worldwide.

The low-cost erotic horror film “X” ranked fourth with a $4.4 million opening score. This A24 release is 95% on Rotten Tomatoes, which has a positive effect on box office continuity.

The road movie “Dog,” starring Channing Tatum, earned $4.1 million in its fifth week, ranking fifth. North America accumulated $54.22 million, and global accumulated $62.1 million.

Although the digital rental version has been launched, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” still ranks sixth with US$3.2 million, with a total of US$797 million in North America and US$1.884 billion globally.

The film’s North American box office eventually topped $800 million, but it couldn’t challenge “Avengers: Endgame”‘s $858 million and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”‘s $936 million.

“Death on the Nile” earned $1.7 million in its sixth week of release, ranking seventh, with a total of $43.57 million in North America and $130 million globally.

The crime movie “The Outfit,” starring Mark Rylance, Zoe Deutch, and Dylan O’Brien, opened with $1.51 million, ranking eighth.
