Trailer for Baz Luhrmann (“Moulin Rouge”) biopic “Elvis” featuring “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood” star Austin Butler as “King of Rock” Elvis Presley and Tom Hanks as Elvis Presley’s manager People Tom Parker.
“Elvis” will have its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival before opening in Northern America on June 24.
It is reported that the film will not only reproduce many classic Elvis Presley songs, but also use current popular songs, including ruffian Eminem, Gary Clark Jr., Jack White and so on.
Luhrmann and Craig Pearce co-wrote the film, starring Elvis Presley and his manager, about how the young singer rose to fame from a poor family and adapted music history.
Luhrmann’s last feature film work dates back to “The Great Gatsby” in 2013, and in recent years he has created the Netflix series “The Get Down”.
