Karen Fukuhara, a Japanese-American actress who starred in “Suicide Squad” and “The Boys,” said she was hit in the head by a man at a cafe and knocked her hat off.
She said that while drinking coffee, a man suddenly hit her on the back of the head and knocked her hat off. When she looked back, the man had walked away.
She had considered confronting the man, but felt it was better not to take the risk. After looking at each other for a few seconds, the man yelled at her and left.
She wrote: “I don’t know why this happened, I didn’t do anything out of the ordinary, this is the first time I’ve been physically harmed, and I’m fine, but these actions should be stopped. These perpetrators beat women, Asians, old people, what kind of pleasure do they get from it? They have to take responsibility for their actions.”
Karen Fukuhara was thankful that the man was not armed, or returned to attack her. She considered learning self-defense and had to protect herself.
Several actors who co-starred with Karen Fukuhara in “Suicide Squad” and “The Boys” also left messages of consolation, such as Karl Urban, Chace Crawford, Jack Quaid and Jay Hernandez, all sent warm responses and support.
