Amanda Seyfried joins Apple’s new series “The Crowded Room” starring Tom Holland.
The series is an anthology series (each season tells a separate story), and its first season is based on “The Minds of Billy Milligan”, the biography of the famous “multi-personality” serial rapist.
It was previously said that Tom Holland’s character in the show was Milligan, the first person in American history to be acquitted of multiple personality disorder (now known as dissociative identity disorder) after committing a felony.
But now the news says that Tom Holland will play a character “loosely based” on Milligan’s Danny Sullivan, whose story is also partly based on the experience of the show’s writer Akiva Goldsman.

Amanda Seyfried plays Rya, a psychiatrist who faces one of the most challenging cases of her career, always putting her patients first, but also balancing work and the family responsibilities of being a single mom.
The series was written by Akiva Goldsman (“A Beautiful Mind” “Fringe”), and its first season was directed by “Pieces of a Woman” director Kornél Mundruczó, with a total of 10 episodes.
The overall theme of the series is “Explore the true stories of people who struggled with mental illness and managed to compromise”.
