The media evaluation of the biographical drama “The Offer” featuring the producer of “The Godfather” has been lifted, and IGN gave “The Offer” a 5-point rating.
Critics described the show’s opening as “disastrous”, with cluttered clues and a bland plot that “was nominally about the making of ‘The Godfather,’ but its real subject was the producer’s strange self-mythology”.
Rating: 5 out of 5 mediocre
The story of the show is based on the unpublished real experience of “The Godfather” producer Albert S. Ruddy. It tells the process of creating “The Godfather” with Coppola and others. The drama “The Offer” stars Miles Teller as the producer Albert S. Ruddy; Dan Fogler as director Francis Ford Coppola; Justin Chambers as Marlon Brando, the “Godfather” in the original film.
Overall review:
With irrelevant plots, unrestrained theatrical conflict, and empty Easter eggs, the first three episodes of “The Offer” attempt to weave a story about how “The Godfather” was made, while also trying to achieve the sublime “The Godfather” film status, but failed.
