“The Godfather” director Francis Ford Coppola once publicly supported Martin Scorsese’s point of view that “Marvel movies are not cinema”. In an interview with “Variety” recently, he revealed that he likes “Deadpool” and thinks it is amazing!
After Ryan Reynolds learned about it, he responded with a post on social media: “Deadpool also likes Francis Ford Coppola.”
Earlier, Coppola said in an interview with the media: “There used to be big studio movies, and now there are Marvel movies. What is a Marvel movie? A Marvel movie is to have a prototype first, and then over and over again, over and over again, reverse. Shoot over and over again, trying to look different.”
“Even a talented filmmaker, like Denis Villeneuve on ‘Dune’, a brilliant, gifted artist; or Cary Fukunaga on ‘No Time to Die’. You put those films together and you see It’s all about cars colliding with each other. These movies have that kind of big scene that the creators have to make if they want to prove that the budget is being spent. This is the state of ‘good’ movies and ‘talented’ filmmakers .”
