Lars von Trier’s cult classic series ‘Riget’ returns, the show’s 3rd and final season “The Kingdom Exodus” released its first clip, Bodil Jørgensen’s Karen sleepwalking through the hospital at night, eerie, evil resides, “the door Once again,” the episode will air this year.
This horror-thriller focuses on a hospital with strange forces, doctors, people and ghosts, bizarre absurdities and dark humor.
Two seasons were released in the 1990s (also released together as a film), initially planned as three seasons, but because of the deaths of stars Ernst-Hugo Järegård and Kirsten Rolffes in the late 20th and early 21st centuries, completion as planned has always seemed out of reach.
The producer, Zentropa, revealed that the 3rd season will see the return of old characters and the addition of new ones.
Lars von Trier and Niels Vørsel collaborated again on the script for the new season, with Lars von Trier directing all five episodes.
The plot is still confidential, but it is expected to continue to explore the unsolved mystery of the hospital and also rekindle the discord between the Swedes and the Danes.
