‘The Wizard of Oz‎’ will be re-released to celebrate Judy Garland’s 100th birthday

The classic film “The Wizard of Oz‎” not only accompanied the growth of generations, but also starred in Judy Garland’s famous work. A few days ago, the film’s producer, Warner Bros., decided to re-release the film this summer to celebrate Judy Garland’s 100th birthday.

Judy Garland was born on June 10, 1922, so the film’s re-release was scheduled for June 5 and 6. The film will be released in 800 theaters across the United States.

“The Wizard of Oz‎” is a collection of fantasy adventure fairy tales created and published by American writer Lyman Frank Baum between 1900 and 1920.

The book was named one of the “10 Greatest American Children’s Literature” by the Children’s Literature Association of America (CLA). It has been translated into more than 20 languages ​​and published in more than 20 languages ​​since its inception, and there are countless cartoons, movies, and stage plays based on the story of The Wizard of OZ.

Currently, Hollywood is working on a new version of “The Wizard of Oz‎”, which will be directed by Nicole Kassell, the director of the TV series “Watchmen”.

Garland’s version of “The Wizard of Oz‎” was released in 1939 and was a huge success. The new version of “The Wizard of Oz‎” is said to be a spinoff from the 1939 version.

Director Nicole Kassell also said in an interview: “The 1939 musical has become part of my DNA. I can’t wait to dance with the heroes of my childhood.”
