‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Northern America collected $29 million on Thursday for Northern America’s second advance performance of the year, the winner being ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ at $36 million.
‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ opened with $187 million in its first three-day week, while ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ is expected to be $150-160 million.
Among the entire MCU’s 20-plus films, “Thor: Love and Thunder” also had a respectable Thursday advance performance, coming in behind “Avengers: Endgame” at $60 million, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” at $50 million, “Avengers: Infinity War 39 million dollars, “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” 36 million dollars after these four films.
“Thor: Love and Thunder” opened early in 42 markets worldwide on Wednesday with a two-day collection of $48.6 million, 79 percent higher than the same period for “Top Gun: Maverick,” 63 percent higher than the same period for “Jurassic World: Dominion” and 36 percent higher than the same period for “Thor: Ragnarok. “Thor: Ragnarok” is 36% higher than the same period.
