Media Review:
The Playlist: All the gore, the organs, the flesh, all the stomach-churning “overeating”, is full of extraordinary romanticism, and what emerges is a remarkable ode to giving yourself unreservedly to your loved ones, your bones, your everything.
‘The Guardian’: An unbridled, over-the-top film whose twisted idealism of love is horrific, wild and shocking.
Collider: A story with odd bones and fancy flesh and blood, a mix that doesn’t always work, but the chemistry between Russell and Chalamet is powerful.
‘Variety’: A concept that struggles to piece together a story, this film fails to draw us in, the narrative is bumpy and bumpy, pushing forward while making things up, and may leave you engulfed in boredom. …… is a child’s trick to sell, one of the most sloppy, hollow and meandering road movies I can remember.
Vogue: Peel back the skin of ‘Bones & All’ and you’ll see a film about “people’s deep desire to be seen by others” rather than a horror story.
Bones & All’ is about a teenage girl’s journey to find herself – a young couple embarking on a journey across America to find the father the heroine has never met and to figure out why she has the urge to kill and eat the people who love her. Yet, despite the efforts of both, all roads lead to their horrific pasts and the ultimate stance that will determine whether their love can survive their differences.
