In May 2000, NASA announced that it would cooperate with Tom Cruise and Elon Musk’s Space X company to make space movies.
The latest news is that Space Entertainment Enterprise (SEE), which invested in the film, will establish a shooting base in space in December 2024, which will be named SEE-1.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the SEE-1 base will serve movies, TV, streaming shows and even live sports.
In addition to serving Tom Cruise’s space movies, SEE-1 provides gravity-free shooting venues for other crews, and will also shoot its own movies and episodes.
It is reported that the base will be built on the Axiom space station, which is a commercial space station. It will initially connect to the International Space Station and then disengage into its own orbit.
Earlier reports said Doug Liman had written the first draft of the Tom Cruise space movie, which he and Tom Cruise will also co-produce.
According to the IMDb website tag, this movie is probably the “Luna Park” that came out in 2015.
“Luna Park” tells the story of a group of scientists who built a space station after they defected and stole space-related equipment, trying to find a way to return to the moon to get a certain energy source.
It is reported that Tom Cruise is taking this film project very seriously and will also conduct related training for entering space.
Industry insiders conservatively estimate that the investment of “Luna Park” will exceed 200 million US dollars, including Tom Cruise as the starring and producer will share 30 million-60 million US dollars.
