“Top Gun: Maverick” with Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer returning is expected to be screened at the Cannes Film Festival.
However, “Top Gun: Maverick” should not premiere in Cannes, and is still expected to premiere in San Diego, where the first film took place, and then go to Cannes.
“Top Gun: Maverick” is the sequel to the popular military action drama more than 30 years ago. It continues to focus on US fighter pilots, with new additions such as Jennifer Connelly, Miles Teller and Glen Powell.
Directed by Joseph Kosinski (“TRON: Legacy””Oblivion”), pilots are in a precarious position today, and advanced drone technology is making their old-school flying obsolete.
T”Top Gun: Maverick” will be released in North America on May 27 and will be held in Cannes from 5.17 to 5.28.
