“Top Gun: Maverick,” starring Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer, has officially announced its appearance at the Cannes Film Festival out of competition.
It opens in Cannes on May 18 and in North America on May 27.

The film continues to focus on U.S. fighter pilots, with new additions such as Jennifer Connelly, Miles Teller, and Glen Powell, and is directed by Joseph Kosinski (“TRON: Legacy””Oblivion”).
“Top Gun: Maverick” tells the story of the precarious position of pilots today, with advanced drone technology making their old-school flying obsolete.
