There are very few movies in Hollywood that have no visual effects at all, but when we go to talk about Marvel movies, we also have to multiply the normal number of visual effects by a hundred or more.
‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ actually has more special effects than the real live ones.
Many critics have noted the film’s poor visual effects. However, according to Gamespot news, an anonymous industry veteran revealed more insider information in a media interview.
“‘Black Panther : Wakanda Forever’ took priority and it felt like senior and executive roles were shifted to the ‘Black Panther : Wakanda Forever’ project with only a smaller team working on ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’.”
Like many other films, ‘Ant-Man’ sometimes requires visual effects artists to build scenes from scratch.
“Sometimes we’re creating the whole movement of the actor – Ant-Man crossing something. You wonder, why didn’t they shoot it the right way or the way they wanted to in the first place? Why did we have to make an actor’s performance look like this? A quick shot that might take two seconds has to be done 20 times to get the effect they want.”
And another veteran said, “‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ has a lot of potential in its story and in its overall visuals, and I think the movie is getting the reviews it is because Marvel is doing everything it can to limit the quality of the film. They’re trying to squeeze blood out of a stone, and we’re running out of blood.”
There were also special effects artists who said, “We put together some scenes that looked cool and looked promising. But there will probably be more people working on the project, probably spending more ex. With a lot of these projects going on at the same time, resources become more and more scarce and quality starts to diminish. You can’t expect all VFX companies to be able to deliver quality work, especially if you want to do the job on a lower budget.”
