Vincent Cassel will star in the new film “The Shrouds” written and directed by David Cronenberg. The two will work together after “Eastern Promises” and “A Dangerous Method”. Filming will begin in March next year.
The main character, Karsh, is a creative businessman and grieving widower who builds a device to connect with the dead inside a burial shroud.
When Karsh’s revolutionary cause was about to enter the international mainstream, several cemeteries, including his wife’s grave, were vandalized and nearly destroyed.
Karsh struggles to uncover the truth about the attack, and the reality prompts him to re-examine his job, his marriage, his loyalty to the memory of his late wife, and push him to a new beginning.
