“It” and “It: Chapter Two” from Warner Bros. subsidiary New Line have been Hollywood’s top-grossing horror franchises of the past five years, with both films grossing more than $1.1 billion worldwide.
Recently, the media revealed that Warner Bros. will shoot the prequel series “Welcome To Derry” (tentative title).
Director Andrés Muschietti returns as producer, with “Wonder Woman” writer Jason Fuchs serving as writer and producer.
The series will focus on the early days of the clown Pennywise’s arrival in Derry Town, and in fact, there are some flashbacks to the past in both films.
Stephen King’s novel “It” had a two-episode miniseries in 1990, starring Tim Curry as the Joker.
