Oscar organizers have announced that they have begun disciplinary proceedings against Will Smith following an investigation into his beating of Chris Rock. And pointed out that after the incident they asked Smith to leave, but Smith refused.
The college said in its statement that Smith violated the college’s standards of conduct (including inappropriate physical contact, abusive or threatening behavior, and compromising the college’s integrity) and that the council initiated disciplinary proceedings against him.
In accordance with college standards and California law, he will receive at least 15 days’ notice of the vote on his violations and penalties, and an opportunity to be heard in advance through written responses.
At the next board meeting on April 18, the college may take action against him, including suspension, expulsion or other sanctions permitted by the bylaws and standards of conduct.

The Academy said Smith’s beating was deeply shocking and traumatic, both on-site and on TV, and they apologized to Rock for having had a bad experience and thanked him for his resilience on the spot, as well as to the nominees, guests and audience. .
