Will Smith’s new film release plans are constantly being affected because of his slap on the host at the Oscars. The film ‘Emancipation’ starring Will Smith and directed by Antoine Fuqua was originally scheduled for theatrical release, but the film is now scheduled to go straight to Apple TV+ at the end of this year or early next year.
Smith plays a real-life historical figure, Peter, a black man who escaped from the slavery of the American South after being tortured.
However, at its core, the film is an action thriller with plenty of emotion, focusing on Peter’s risky journey to escape the hands of his slave masters, on the way to cover his scent with onions, evade his pursuers with dogs, and rely on his own strength and ingenuity to travel barefoot through a swamp in 10 days ……
‘Emancipation’ was directed by Antoine Fuqua and according to the press, critics gave the film a high rating.
