According to foreign media, the prequel movie “Wonka” of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” was announced to start shooting in London on Wednesday, local time.
“Wonka” also exposed new casts, including “Mr Bean” Rowan Atkinson and Sally Hawkins.
The previously announced cast include Timothée Chalamet, Olivia Colman, Jim Carter, Tom Davis, etc.
“Wonka” will be the origin story of the musical form.
The film is set during the British Industrial Revolution in the mid-19th century, focusing on Willy Wonka in his youth and his adventures before opening the world’s most famous chocolate factory.
Timothée Chalamet plays the young Willy Wonka in the film, the role of Johnny Depp in “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”.
It is reported that “Wonka” has been developed for 4 years, directed by Paul King (“Paddington Bear”), and “Harry Potter” series producer David Heyman is the producer.
“Wonka” will be released in North America on March 17, 2023.
