The prequel film “Wonka” of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, which is currently being filmed, has been changed. The film has been delayed from its original March 17, 2023, release date in North America to December 15.
“Wonka” was postponed from spring to Christmas. Perhaps the producers thought that there was an indispensable family-friendly element in this film, so they made such adjustments.
Willy Wonka is a character created by the famous children’s literature author Roald Dahl.
In the film “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, the character was played by Johnny Depp, in this film by Timothée Chalamet. This is one of Depp’s iconic roles in his acting career.
The film focuses on the adventures of young Wonka before the opening of the world’s most famous chocolate factory, and will have elements of singing and dancing.
As planned, the film will tell an original story. Rowan Atkinson, Sally Hawkins, Olivia Colman, Jim Carter, Rich Fulcher, Keegan-Michael Key, Tom Davis, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Paterson Joseph and more also star.
Behind the scenes, Paul King (“Paddington Bear”) directed and wrote the script with Simon Farnaby (“Paddington 2”), and David Heyman (“Harry Potter”) served as producer.
