Keira Knightley and Carrie Coon star in the new film ‘Boston Strangler’ released the official trailer and poster, about two journalists leading the charge to uncover one of the most notorious serial murders of all time, which goes live on Hulu on March 17.
‘Boston Strangler’ is written and directed by Matt Ruskin (‘Crown Heights’), with a cast that includes Alessandro Nivola, Chris Cooper, David Dastmalchian and others.
The film focuses on the infamous ‘Boston Strangler’ murders: 13 single women were assaulted, sexually assaulted and strangled in their apartments between 1962 and 1964, and the police investigation led to the suspect Albert DeSalvo, who pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life in prison before being killed in prison.
There are many doubts in the case, and the real serial killer and the person who killed DeSalvo are still a mystery.
Keira Knightley plays Loretta McLaughlin, the first reporter to connect the dots on murder and cover the Strangler story, who, along with colleague Jean Cole, challenged the sexism of the early 1960s by covering Boston’s most notorious serial killer and went to great lengths to keep women informed relentlessly.
Loretta risked great personal danger to track down the story and discovered the corruption that cast doubt on the true identity of the ‘Boston Strangler’.
