“Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical”, the Netflix remake of the hit musical “Matilda”, released the pilot trailer, a 5-year-old girl with special abilities to fight school bullying, “rules can be broken”.
Emma Thompson stars as the villain – the cruel principal Miss Trunchbull, 11-year-old newcomer Alisha Weir plays the lead role – the smart little girl Matilda , Lashana Lynch (‘Captain Marvel’ ‘No Time to Die’) as the kind-hearted teacher Miss Honey.
Musical adaptation of Roald Dahl’s famous fairy tale about a gifted 5-year-old girl who uses her telepathic abilities to fight bullying at home and school and to protect her friends.
The film version of “Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical” is a collaboration between the musical’s director Matthew Warchus, writer Dennis Bumbarger Kelly Bumbarger and music writer Tim Minchin.
Netflix is doing the worldwide distribution of “Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical”, except for the exclusive theatrical distribution in the UK by Sony’s TriStar Pictures (which will also be available on Netflix in the UK after theatrical release).
