The Danish actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jaime Lannister in “Game of Thrones”, has a new film, “Against the Ice” starring and writing him, and it will be released on Netflix on March 2.
“Against the Ice” is based on the true story of the 1909 Danish-Alabama expedition, led by Captain Ejnar Mikkelsen (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), in an attempt to overturn the American claim to northeastern Greenland.
The dispute stemmed from the belief at the time that Greenland was two islands.
Mikkelsen leaves the crew behind with the ship, sledding across the ice with inexperienced crew member Iver Iversen (Joe Cole), and the two manage to find evidence that Greenland is an island.
It took more time for the pair to get back on the boat and it was more difficult than expected.
Exhausted, exhausted and attacked by polar bears, they finally reach the hull, only to find their boat pinned to the ice and the camp abandoned.
Hoping to be rescued, they must fight for survival.
As the days get longer, their psychological control over reality begins to wane, breeding mistrust and paranoia that serve as red flags in their fight for survival.
