The classic “Cyrano de Bergerac” has been adapted into a movie, starring Peter Dinklage, Haley Bennett and Kelvin Harrison, and “Darkest Hour” director Joe Wright’s “Cyrano” has been revealed.
“Cyrano” has been screened at the Telluride Film Festival, and the North American screening day is December 31 this year.
“Cyrano” is adapted from the musical “Cyrano”, and the actor Peter Dinklage returns to play Cyrano.
Haley Bennett, who has collaborated with Dinklage in the 2018 version of the musical, returned to star in Roxanne, while Brian Tyree Henry and Ben Mendelsohn joined the star at the same time.
The original musical is adapted from the famous book “Cyrano de Bergerac” by Edmond Rostand, and a large number of original songs have been added.
The “Cyrano de Bergerac” that audiences are most familiar with should be French actor Gérard Depardieu’s “Cyrano de Bergerac” in 1990.
“Cyrano” tells the story: Cyrano is wild and unruly by nature and kind-hearted. He silently admires his cousin Roxanne.
But he was born with an ugly big nose, and even though he was brilliant, he did not dare to show his thoughts to his cousin.
When Cyrano prepared to express his love after writing his love letter, Roxanne told him that he was in love with the handsome recruit Christian, and asked Cyrano, who was in the same army, to protect him.
Christian also liked Roxanne, Cyrano wrote his love for Roxanne in the letter, and then gave it to Roxanne in the name of Christian, and cleverly arranged the marriage of the two.
Unexpectedly, the officer who had been ill-informed towards Roxanne was so angry and unbearable to see this situation, he transferred Christian to Arras…
“Cyrano” will be released in North America on December 31 this year.
