In January this year, Toei Animation announced that it would shoot a new “Slam Dunk” animation film.
The company recently announced that Takehiko Inoue, the original author of the manga, will serve as the director and screenwriter. It will be released in Japan in the fall of 2022, and the concept trailer will be released.
“Slam Dunk” is a comic based on high school basketball by Japanese manga artist Takehiko Inoue.
From 1990 to 1996, he was serialized in Shueisha’s “Weekly Shonen Jump”.
There are 31 volumes in the single-line version, 24 volumes in the full version, and 20 volumes in the newly re-edited version. The circulation of Japanese manga has exceeded 120 million.
From 1993 to 1996, this manga was adapted into a TV animation, but the plot was played until しょうほくこうとうがっこう set off to participate in the national competition.
This animation was introduced to mainland China, and its impact was even higher than that of comics.
Kamakura Gaomae Station, the location of the level crossing scene in the overture of the animated car park, has even become a tourist attraction in Japan.
Four theatrical animations were released between 1994 and 1995 in this work, all of which were before the national competition.
Although the official story has not yet been announced, fans hope that “Slam Dunk” will complement the content of the national competition.
“Slam Dunk” will be released in Japan in the fall of 2022
