The official trailer for ‘The Fabelmans’, the new semi-autobiographical coming-of-age film directed by Steven Spielberg, was released, and the film is a dream never to be forgotten.
Newcomers Gabriel LaBelle as Sammy’sSammy Fabelman, Michelle Williams as Sammy’s mother, Paul Dano as Sammy’s father, Seth Rogen as Sammy’s uncle, Julia Butters as Sammy’s sister Anne, Sam Rechner as Sammy’s high school friend Chad, and David Lynch also stars.
The Fabelmans’ will have a small release in New York and Los Angeles on Nov. 11 and a nationwide expansion on Nov. 23.
Spielberg wrote the script with longtime collaborator Tony Kushner (‘Lincoln,’ ‘Munich,’ ‘West Side Story’), and the story is loosely based on Olds’ life story, focusing primarily on Sammy ‘s teenage years and relationship with his parents, who, like Olds, lived in Phoenix, Arizona, USA.
Spielberg himself lived in Phoenix in the late 1950s and early 1960s, making home movies and adventure films with his father’s 8mm camera while confronting anti-Semitism.
